Understanding the History and Heart of Explore the Bible

June 25, 2020 by Dwayne McCrary

Earlier this year, Dwayne McCrary, the leader of the adult Explore the Bible team, sat down with Erin Ivey to give her an overview of Explore the Bible including some of the history behind the creation of the resources and the heart behind Explore the Bible. They talked about how the resource got started, why the Adult Commentary and QuickSource were added as the family grew, and how the resources have impacted Dwayne’s life on a person level. You can listen here to their conversation.

As you listen you will discover the difference between the traditional approach (Personal Study Guide and Leader Guide model) and the reflective approach (Daily Discipleship Guide model). If a group uses the Personal Study Guide, leaders will find the Leader Guide helpful in preparing to lead the group. Dwayne walked Erin through the steps for using the Leader Guide to prepare to lead a group. Listen here

He also explained to Erin how to use the Leader Helps in the Daily Discipleship Guide to prepare to lead a Bible study group. Listen here
