Nehemiah 9:32-37, Session 11: Return to God

February 9, 2015 by Jennifer Siao

Begin by reading the entire chapter of Nehemiah 9. Then read this blog post that focuses more in-depth on Nehemiah 9:16-17. This will help you and your students establish the context for where your study picks up in verses 32-37. The central truth for this session is: Regardless of our circumstances, God is faithful. Think through the following questions as you prepare for your session:

  • How have you seen God’s mercy in your own life? List one instance where you’ve seen His mercy recently, in your life or in the life of a friend or family member.
  • The Levites’ prayer of confession reveals that they were returning to God. What sin do you need to confess in your life?
  • Encourage your students to pray and ask God to examine their hearts and show them any sin or things in their lives that are not glorifying Him.
