The central truth for this session is: We can approach God with confidence because of the work of Jesus as our great High Priest. Read this devotional from Truth for Life and reflect on the following quote and questions:
- An early martyr said, “I can bear it all, for Jesus suffered, and He suffers in me now; He sympathizes with me, and this makes me strong.” Take a moment to dwell on this.
- How is Christ able to sympathize with our weaknesses? Why is this important?
- What is your first response when you face suffering and hardships?
Hebrews 4:16 is the memory verse for this session. Take some time to memorize this verse. Remember that as Christians we are able to approach God with boldness because Jesus is our great High Priest. Not only was He tested in every way as we are, but He is also the only One powerful enough to do so without sinning.
