How do you, a student leader, help parents and guardians disciple their students? What is step-one; especially if you are not the parent of a teenager yourself? Each session of Explore the Bible: Students comes with a FREE resource for parents. They are called the “One Conversations” and they give moms and dads both a quick synopsis of each session and some practical tips for following-up with the session’s content.
Parents like knowing what their students are being taught and these clean bullet-pointed sheets help you as the student leader keep parents informed, involved, and even equipped. You see, they are given challenges of their own; challenges that are kept secret from the students! For example, in Session 6 of our quarter in the first half of the Gospel of Matthew, while the Personal Study Guides challenged students to ask for their parents’ permission to go on a fast, the corresponding One Conversations for that session told parents to expect it, to prompt their students if they never asked for permission to fast, and to go on a secret fast along with their students.
They can be distributed to parents in easily printable PDF format, they can be shared through email and social media, and they can be easily embedded into your church’s or student ministry’s website.
Hopefully, all of these facts will help you as one who comes alongside parents and guardians in discipling their students, but the absolute number ONE thing you need to know about the One Conversations is that they are all linked completely for free right here.
