Luke 2:8–20 opens with shepherds terrified at the sight of an angel, and it ends with those shepherds glorifying and praising God. They had encountered Messiah Jesus just as they had been told they would. Do you believe that such transformative encounters are possible today? Really and truly, do you believe God is able to transform lives this Christmas? My prayer is that you would not only believe it, but that you would plan on it.
In fact, I intend to give you something through this article to help you do so.
When people visit your ministry this Christmas, give them an encounter with Jesus. Give them the Word of God! It does not matter if your nativity scene is Hollywood quality. It does not matter if your cider tastes right. What matters is whether or not you share from God’s Word. John 1:1 tells us that Jesus is the Word of God and has been since the beginning. To encounter the Bible by the Spirit is to encounter Jesus.
Below is a link to a free digital toolbox. We put this offer together because we are passionate about equipping the church to take people book by book through God’s Word. In it, you will find a family devotional eBook to distribute, four free sessions of Explore the Bible, a reading plan to help newcomers join the Explore the Bible plan, and promotional artwork to help you follow-up.
Like the angel in Luke 2, share God’s Word and invite people to meet Jesus. Then, like the shepherds in Luke 2, may those Christmas guests come back again glorifying and praising God. You have more than a mere angel; you have the Holy Spirit’s presence drawing people! You have more than a single line to share; you have every book of God’s Word! So, give them the Bible and invite them to encounter Jesus.
Merry Christmas, my friends.

Thank you. I have recently started training working toward a Lay minister. I read everything I can get my hands on. You have some really great ideas. I have been attending my church for about two years. I thank God everyday that he lead me to this church and my pastor. He is a unique pastor and has encouraged me to enter the ministry field.
