We are excited to have a new editor on our team for Explore the Bible Students! His name is Jesse Campbell and he previously served as the student minister at First Baptist Church Windermere in Orlando. Here’s a word of introduction from Jesse. You’ll see more posts from him in the future on our blog.
My bride, my boys, and I consider this opportunity at Lifeway a beautiful blessing and a heavy calling. My dad instilled a deep respect for expository Bible teaching in my heart when I was a boy, my professors modeled it for me when I was a seminarian, and my ministries showed me the incredible fruit that such an approach can bear when I was a pastor. There is nothing students need more than the perfect Holy Spirit-inspired Word of God. When students encounter Jesus in word form as the Bible is taught to them in accordance with its original historical-cultural context and lived out in front of them by Spirit-filled leaders who love them, ministries grow and the kingdom of God advances. I love Bible teaching that is accessible, yet demanding; teaching that covers a great deal of scripture, yet is in-depth. I believe lesson application should be practical and challenging for the believer while also introducing the student who is not yet saved to the gospel wherever it appears in text. The Bible is both current and futuristic. It’s way cooler than we are. Countless student ministries are facing a season now in which they need expository teaching, so I am ecstatic that Lifeway has introduced the Explore the Bible curriculum line to students and am honored to be a part of it. God bless you, student ministry leaders. You are heroes.
