We are excited to have a new editor on our team for Explore the Bible Students! His name is Drew Dixon and he previously served as an editor of Discipleship in Context, Lifeway’s custom Bible study service. Here’s a word of introduction from Drew. You’ll see more posts from him in the future on our blog.
I am thankful to God for the opportunity to lead Explore the Bible for Students. I have always been drawn to expositional teaching. I believe the story of the Bible comes alive when we take the time to understand the context in which it was written and the intent of its original authors. Sadly, few student Bible studies take the time necessary to teach the Bible in its context, consequently there is a huge need for solid, expositional Bible studies for students. I am thrilled to be on a team that sets out to meet that need through Explore the Bible.
I have served as a youth pastor in Alabama and Texas and have, since college, been actively involved in discipling students. I am also the editor-in-chief of GameChurch.com—a ministry devoted to engaging gaming culture and pointing gamers to Christ. Before starting on the Explore the Bible team, I was an editor of Discipleship in Context, Lifeway’s custom Bible study service. I love to study and teach the Bible and have a passion for discipling the next generation. I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to help student pastors do both of those things well. My wife Jennifer and I have been married for seven years and have two children, Evelyn (4) and Gwyneth (1). I am humbled by the opportunity to resource students, student pastors, and student leaders in their mission of making disciples for the glory of God and the good of the church!
