Coming this fall in Explore the Bible: Kids, boys and girls will hear stories from the history genre as they dive deep into the books of 1 & 2 Samuel and 1 Chronicles. These studies follow Israel’s last judge, Samuel, as he oversees the transition of the nation from rule by God to rule by monarchy. God’s desire was for the nation to fully follow God and be set apart from other nations that had a king.
When Samuel was born, his mother brought him to the tabernacle in Shiloh, where he was raised by the priest, Eli. Early in Samuel’s life, the Lord began to call him, and Samuel grew into a mighty prophet. When the nation decided they wanted to be like everyone else, God told Samuel to anoint Saul to be the first king of Israel. Saul was a weak leader, and eventually God chose David to be the king. David’s growth and rule was one to be used as an example for future leaders. At the end of David’s life, David handed the kingdom over to his son Solomon and charged Solomon to always follow the Lord’s direction and word.
These studies of the history of Israel and the first few human kings they had will help girls and boys see how God’s way is always the best way. Kids will learn of God’s promise to David to keep someone from David’s family on the throne of Israel until one day a King of kings would reign on David’s throne. God fulfilled that promise through Jesus Christ, who came and fulfilled God’s kingdom on earth completely.

I know it will be great and am looking forward to it.
My only question is if there will be a replacement for the Lifeway Kids digital app that will be going away? It has been a great resource.
Thanks for all you do.
Take care.

The content we were providing for parents through the Lifeway Kids App is now available through the Ministry Grid At Home resources. Ministry Grid is a web app, so there is no app to download. Ministry leaders can share the easy link with parents via email, or invite them directly in Ministry Grid. There are help docs available on Ministry Grid that have more info on how to do this.
