In this session’s Personal Study Guide (top of page 36) there is a survey we included that lists eight biblical factors that Lifeway Research has found consistently show up in the lives of maturing believers. Read more on their research and the eight attributes here. Think about the following questions as you prepare:
- First, think about how you have matured physically over the years. Then, think about how you have matured spiritually.
- Reflect on whether or not the eight attributes of spiritual maturity in the Lifeway Research article and the Personal Study Guide are evident in your personal life. Which areas do you still need to mature in?
- Read: “God shapes congregations through the shaping of the individual members’ lives. This shaping doesn’t just happen; it’s through intentional effort on the part of both leaders and church members.” —Ed Stetzer // Everyone has a role in the church and God desires for us to use the gifts He has given us. Consider what God’s role is for you in the shaping of members’ lives. What intentional effort do you need to make this week to help and encourage your students to grow and mature in their faith?
