Hebrews 11:1-6, Session 10: Faith is?

October 24, 2014 by Jennifer Siao

ldrxtra10We hope that your study in the Book of Hebrews is going well so far. The  passage for session 10 is Hebrews 11:1-6 and the central truth is: It is impossible to please God without faith. The leader help for this session will focus on verse 4, so begin by reading the story of Cain and Abel in Genesis 4:1-16. Then read this post and respond to the following questions:

  • What was the key reason why Abel’s sacrifice was more acceptable to the Lord than Cain’s?
  • Compare and contrast how each of their sacrifices were different in two columns.
  • Evaluate your faith in God and where your trust level is that He will provide all of your needs. Also, think about what sacrifices you can offer to God, whether that may be time or using the abilities He has given you to serve.

For further study, listen to this sermon by Matt Chandler on Hebrews 11.
