In Explore the Bible: Kids we will help kids learn about their Bibles. The Bible is divided into six distinct genres (or types of literature) and every three years kids will be introduced to each of the six genres of Scripture.
The Law describes God’s plan for people and the rules He gave to help them have a blameless relationship with Him.
History encompasses both the detailed history of God’s people in the Old Testament and the history of the early church in the New Testament.
Poetry and Wisdom includes books written in poetic form and those that include wisdom for all people.
Prophecy books share God’s Word through prophets to people living in Bible times as well as His Word to people today.
Gospels tell the story of Jesus’ birth, death, and resurrection. Each book has distinct characteristics and addresses a specific group of people.
Letters are written to specific churches or individuals to share God’s message of hope for now and in the future.
