In a rapidly changing culture, there seems to be very little that is consistent or stays the same. College students and young adults are searching for something they can trust and find truth in that completely intersects with the daily pulse of their lives. The Word never changes. The Scriptures bring hope to a culture that has abandoned looking to faith in anything other than self.
I’m thankful the Apostle Paul points us toward allowing Scripture to be the core of what it means to be a follower of Christ. In Colossians 3:16, he encourages us to “let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.” As college students and young adults are looking for authenticity and meaning in their relationship with Christ, there’s no better place to point them than to Scripture and allow the Word to dwell deeply within them, because we know what dwells in us also controls us.
Our hope and desire is to see a generation of young adults fall deeply in love with the God’s Word and allow it to speak into the moment–by-moment context of their lives. Imagine what it would look like if college students and young adults began to allow God’s Word to dwell deeply within their lives. The lens by which they see the changes and challenges along their journey is different. They understand that the message of Christ truly is the hope our world needs.
Young adults will journey through a book-by-book study of Scripture in Explore the Bible: Young Adults. We hope your groups will join us as we study the text in its context and obey the text in our context.
