How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time, as they say. But why do they say it (and who is they anyway)? The point is if you are going to do something big, then you should take manageable steps to accomplish your goal—you need a plan.
For the very big goal of studying the Bible book by book, Explore the Bible provides a manageable plan…one bite at a time.
Explore the Bible is a book-by-book Bible study for all ages—adults, young adults, students, and kids. Over the course of three years, we will taste from God’s Word every type of biblical literature, or genre, in order to provide a balanced view of the Scriptures. Why? Because, as with any good diet, we need a balance and we need every part. (Check out the study plan.)
We need the Gospels to see Jesus up close and personal. We need the history books to see how God has worked in the past; the prophetic books to know how God works in the present and holds the future. We need the books of wisdom to shape our hearts and minds according to how God has ordered His world.
The Bible—in all its parts—is both supremely important and necessary. God’s words are your life (Deut. 32:47); they are a lamp for your feet, a light for your path (Ps. 119:105), the sword of the Spirit (Eph. 6:17), and the very truth of God that makes you more like Jesus (John 17:17). “Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matt. 4:4).
If you believe the goal is worthy—and this one is—and you find the journey satisfying—we trust you will—then you will gladly take bite after bite after bite of that which matters.
What keeps you coming back to feast on God’s Word again and again?
